Middle Ground

Before I became a teacher I didn't like my job and loved my social life.
Now that I'm a teacher I love my job and have a tiny social life.

Where is the happy middle?

So I don't know you :) But... I saw your post while exploring the "next blog" at the top of my screen. I'm trying to find other beginning teachers to follow so I am now going to follow your blog... hope it's not too weird that I don't know you at all and I will now be following you :)

I'm a second year teacher... the first year was HORRENDOUS! I can't tell from your blog if you are still in your first year, but if you are, here's my advice: IT GETS SOOOOO MUCH BETTER! Sometimes I can't even believe that it's the same job.I'm hoping that year three gets even easier. Good luck!!!

Thanks for both of your comments of encouragement. And happy to hear I'll getmy social life back or part of it. :-)

I am in my first year of teaching. I think it could be so much harder in different districts. I actually feel lucky because I have a great team that is so helpful and the whole reading program is scripted - so I don't have to think outside the box. I'm sure I'll grow tired of it. I cannot wait to next year and already know what to do and how to do it better.

So, like the Sunflower Kid, I too was skipping through the blogs to find more teachers. I, however, was laid off last June. Still, I wanted to have some teachers' opinions regarding the education system. My blog is called Fixing the Education System. Check it out and share your opinions. It's always great to share information--especially if it can help better the current system.
